Friendship Lunches are held at Trinity in the Link on the 3rd Sunday on each month
Anyone who would enjoy eating their lunch with a group of friends once a month is welcome. We also have Holy Communion afterwards in The Link for those who would like to participate. There is a small charge to cover the cost of the meal but each month there is feedback that everyone has gone home happy and well fed, sometimes even clutching a second helping of the sweet they couldn’t quite manage whilst there!
In order to prepare, cook and serve the lunches of course, we need willing volunteers, maybe two or three friends, a family team, a husband and wife or two couples working together, possibly two or three people from one of the Church based organisations, to fill a space on the Rota from time to time. Everyone qualifies and offers of help are very welcome. If you feel you cannot commit to taking responsibility for preparing a lunch but would like to know more and feel you may be able to help in some way, please get in touch with me. There are always opportunities to help with table setting, getting the plates ready, serving meals, clearing tables and dare I say it, washing up and often many hands make light work. Sadly, of course, some of our members who have prepared lunches over many years reach the stage where they feel perhaps it is time to take a little rest and I have struggled this year to complete the Rota.
If you would like to volunteer or attend a lunch then please contact me. (keithjenne@sky.com) by telephone 01245 461187 or by leaving a note in my pigeonhole. I will be delighted to talk to you and answer your questions.
